What's in my Travel Make-Up Bag!

If you follow my Twitter account you may have seen on Sunday I tweeted saying that I had managed to condense my make-up into a nice travel size bag to take with me on holiday! I normally take way to much make-up with me when I travel so I’m really proud that I managed to cut back and only take the basics.

I bought this cute moustache motif make-up bag in Primark and it cost £4 it’s a creamy colour and has two sections and fits in all that I need and doesn't take up much room in my suit case which is perfect.

In the first section I have my base products and brow pencil too. For Primer I’m taking the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser, no reason in particular other than it’s the primer that I’m currently using. SPF is vital so I’m taking UV essential SPF 50+ by Chanel to apply to my face, ill still get a few freckles on my face but this will prevent any permanent damage. I’m taking this Rimmel Matte BB cream as I don’t think that ill need foundation, foundation will be quite heavy on my face in the hot weather so this will be nice and light but still covering up any redness I have on my face until the freckles take over. I’m taking two concealers, NARS Creamy Concealer in Custard and Bourjois Healthy Mix in Light. I use the NARS concealer to cover any blemishes and spots and I use the Bourjois one for my under eye area. Next is the MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Light Plus, my skin gets super oily in hot weather so this will help set my base and help with oil control. For my brows I’m taking MUA Luxe Power Brow in Medium this also has a highlighter at the other end so it’s a multi purpose product. I’m taking an eyelid primer from GOSH that has silver balls that distribute product over the eyes they are nice and cooling so this again will be nice to apply in the heat. I’m also taking my theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer for a bit of contour and my Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter for a nice summer glow.

In the second section I’ve got my eye and lip products I also have my mascara, blushers and eyeliners tucked in here to. I bought the MUA Undress Me Too palette especially for this trip because its slim and compact and has a good variety of colour that I can create lots of looks with and I tend to favour the bronze/neutral tones that this palette offers. I’ve also packed this single shadow by Barry M as I am in love with it at the minute and have been using it a lot and I couldn’t bare to leave it behind for two weeks. For my cheeks I’ve packed these Bourjois Cream Blushers in 02 and 03, I went for the peach toned one and a light pink shade as they are very summery colours and will also look nice on my skin when it has some colour. Ive picked three lip colours in total and I think that they cover all my bases, I’m taking this Tanya Burr Lip-gloss in Exotic Island for a pop of colour, Revlon Colour Burst Matte Balm for a nice subtle light pink colour and Bourjois Colour Boost in Peach on the Beach for a nice peachy summery lip colourFor my mascara I’m taking the Maybelline The Falsies Mascara and ill be taking this Barry M Kohl eyeliner in brown and the Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl eyeliner in black, I’m also taking the Rimmel liquid liner in case I want to do something with a bit of drama on my eyes. The liquid liner is waterproof so I won’t need to worry about any transferring if I get a bit over heated.

Like I said I’m so proud that I have managed to really cut back and only packed the essentials! I’ve also got a bag with my skincare in but this isn't exciting as I’ve just packed miniatures of the Liz Earle Skincare items. Ill be taking my brushes in my, oh so cute brush roll handmade by the wonderful Hayley from Tea Party Beauty!

Are you going anywhere nice this summer?? What’s in your Holiday Make-Up bag??

Family Day Out ~ The Forbidden Corner

A few weeks ago now my Sister had her Sister-in-Law, Brother-in-Law and two Nephews up for the weekend and as we all had the day off Saturday we (Mummy and Daddy Lines included) decided to have a day out at The Forbidden Corner in Middleham near Leyburn North Yorkshire.

On the Bank Holiday Monday there was a parade in Richmond (my hometown) and in the gardens they had stalls and face painting etc. My Mum had purchased some raffle tickets from one of the stalls and then we set off home for a chilled afternoon. Whilst we were just sitting down to eat our evening meal we had a call and I think this happens to most people as soon as you sit down to eat the phone goes! Very annoying, but on this occasion this call wasn’t so bad, it was one of the raffle organisers calling to say that we had won a family ticket for The Forbidden Corner!

We had booked to go for 13:00 so we decided to take a picnic with us and have some lunch before we went in. The picnic area is in a small little wood with picnic benches spread out in small openings dotted around which is something different and luckily for us the weather was nice so it was a nice little place to enjoy our food.

Once we had filled our faces with tasty sandwiches and cakes we made our way in to the park its self and we had a fun filled afternoon making our way around making sure that we found everything that was on the leaflet that we were given at the start. There is plenty to see and a few surprises on the way.

If you are looking for a fun family day out then The Forbidden Corner is perfect as it’s just as much fun for adults as it is for the kids, no chance of getting bored while the kids are having a scream. Every time I’ve been they have added something new so if you have been before its worth checking out again especially if your looking for something to do during the upcoming summer holidays!
